I do.

Welp. It looks like I’m finally fucken doin’ it. Here’s a blog. Again.¹ I can’t help it if it’s what the kids want. Old Mx Spots writing nonsense on the internet again.

I can never quite tell what I want to write. Half the time these things start off as a brain dump, and are complete nonsense – but we like that. This will likely be precisely the same. I might even rehash my food and film rants, because why not?

I’m obviously going to do this before I get any sort of About page set up. Have I credited the artist who did the site icon? No. Have I thanked them? Yes. Multiple times. Privately.²

The difference with this blog, and why I think I’m going to enjoy ✨The Process ✨ more, is that I’m not using the god awful WordPress editor. Even the old one was janky, but the new “Gutenberg” one is hot garbage.

No, this time I’m being a bougie bitch and using Obsidian with a bunch of plugins. One adds features to make Obsidian better for non-fiction writing, instead of being a PKM Wiki, one connects to WordPress for publishing, and another one literally just lets me do the footnotes more easily.^{3 4}

I still have more work to do on this. I have more templates to tweak, should do the About page. MIGHT do something about the search and front page, depending on how this looks once there’s a few posts up. I’m dreading what the section on the right will look like once it starts populating. (I suppose Gutenberg is OKAY for the design elements, but NOT for the actual writing bit. Obsidian is much more competent for that.)

Once I get the blog looking good, I may start other, more offline writing projects. Might start writing about games, or writing my stories from over the years down. (Uh oh. The 🌈queer🏳️‍🌈 wants to write a memoir. 🚨 ) We’ll see about that, though. At least for my own… havin’ em… I think I’d like to write my stories down.

I’m out of ideas for this one, so have a song⁵ I guess. 😌
